I just saw something on MSN from someone saying that the $85 Billion that was marked exclusivley to bailout AIG should be divided between the 200 million adult Americans. That comes to approximately $425,000 per person. They even said that after taxes it would be just under $300,000 per person. Something to ponder when voting in November---hopefully for someone OTHER than a Democrat or Republican. Besides, it will not matter at all who is "elected" because with this government bailing out rich corporations, they won't have any money to do ANY of the things they're currently promising they'll do if they win.

Now that sounds like a good bailout plan - give the money directly to the people with the stipulation that they use it to pay off their mortgages and get to keep what is leftover.

If we are getting stuck with the bill, I want to see CEO's in orange jump suits and a 10% return on my investment as a tax credit once shit is straigtened out, or apply it to my IRS bill and call it a wash.

I hate to say it, Ron Paul was right.

Isn't a bit ironic to have the current chair of econimic commitites involved? Are we letting angelo mozillo and franklin raines in the meeting as well? How about all the brokers, realtors and appraisers in Miami?

And the one group who gets off scott free, the title companies that had to review all these documents and backdate closings and give free title to borrowers with judgements. It runs deeper than just banks and government, lots of people partied on our dime.

Aside from roker conventions and company trips to the islands in hotels with hookers and drugs provided. You would be surprized at what went on if you saw it.

well, looks like this guy has a plan to save scarce fiscal resourcs:

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that state Rep. John LaBruzzo (R) said yesterday that “he is studying a plan to pay poor women $1,000 to have their Fallopian tubes tied.” LaBruzzo worries that people receiving food and housing assistance “are reproducing at a faster rate than more affluent, better-educated residents”:

He said he is gathering statistics now. … “What I’m really studying is any and all possibilities that we can reduce the number of people that are going from generational welfare to generational welfare,” he said.

He said his program would be voluntary. It could involve tubal ligation, encouraging other forms of birth control or, to avoid charges of gender discrimination, vasectomies for men. It also could include tax incentives for college-educated, higher-income people to have more children, he said.

LaBruzzo said that mainstream strategies against poverty, such as education and family planning, “have repeatedly failed to solve the problem,” according to the Times-Picayune. “I don’t know if it’s a viable option…Of course people are going to get excited about it,” he said of his plan.

As Don King says, "Only in America!" (or Bavaria)

Sounds awfully darwinian.

In the plains of the sahara there are no slow cheetahs, stupid chimps or sick elephants. We, as compassionate "christians", keep reproducing indiscriminately, requiring redundant marriage licenses but letting anyone have a baby- whether they are physically, mentally or financially able to do so. Again rubbers, rubbers, rubbers, unfortunately only the smart people who care about the planet are using them. Thank you, I do my best.

Check out this article on the subject, reminds me of HJ wells meets orwell meets the twilight zone.

What, you mean a website named daily mail would not be the supreme authority on the subject? I thought their site was the holy bible of evolutionary science.

I found some other sources that do not mention trolls.

Rasta - do it again, it's 425 (check the button that does the decimal pts on your calc) - or try it this way;
200m x 5 = 1b, and then we need 85 of those.

Forget it - I still want to party with you.

parties are a good thing although I have little or no idea on the proclivities (is that a word?) of fellow formites, gender nor lifestyle. You have no idea of my paranoia before meeting cush212 at the McDowell music fest 2yrs ago....turned out well though. Other than the friend i drove there with, razzing me about my "internet date" haha. Very FUNNY! ...yeah

My calc shows 85 Bill as 85,000,000,000,000

85,000,000 x 1,000,000 / 200,000,000 = 425,000

Keep up the good work Rasta!

85,000,000,000,000 = 85 trillion.
85,000,000,000/200,000,000 = 425.

Cancel the zeros to make the math REALLY easy: 850/2 = 425.

Don't forget that there's roughly 300,000,000 people living in America too, although that does include minors.

$425 ain't gonna change my life much.

Funny original post though. Me likey!
